The building of the Hattori family (formerly a merchant house that was engaged in the terrifying business (selling footwear and umbrellas) and the pharmaceutical industry (dispensing and selling medicines)) built after the Great Fire of Kawagoe in 26 is used as it is in Edo. It is a museum that exhibits historical materials related to Kawagoe's business and life since the era.
The building is registered as a tangible cultural property designated by the city.
The exhibition changes depending on the season, and in March and May, historically valuable Hina dolls and May dolls will be exhibited.
Facing the kurazukuri townscape, you can tour the building for free.
